MEDER Facial

I was lucky enough to be asked to try this facial I have been Blogging for about two years and I get asked to try skin care and other Beauty products but this is the first I have been asked to try out a facial so really excited as a Beauty Therapist it is always good to try new things and experience it yourself.

The facial I had was a non invasive facial by MEDER a professionals beauty and skin care range made in Switzerland.

Founded in 2009 by Dr Tina Orasmae-MEDER, dermatologist and cosmetic expert.

I must admit I hadn't heard of this range before it has a good reputation and well know in Sweden, Germany and most Scandinavian and Eastern European countries.

What I know about the Scandinavian's is they want result driven facials and if they want a relaxing facial with relaxing music they will book that we are still catching up with our European cousins unless your well travelled or dare I say affluent which is a shame but they are luxury but I consider them important.

My facial took part in a discreet room in Nottinghilll west london within a hairdressers links and details to follow at the end did some research you can have this treatment in Harrods which is great for European and international clients but  they have a waiting list so this hidden oasis is perfect find and it is central London stones throw away from portabella  market.

The non invasive facial I had was Lipo-Oval which couldn't come at better time as just had my birthday so was a treat to myself so hear goes the Lipo-Oval is the first non invasive facial liposculpture treatment providing fat spitting effect and simultaneous lifting and restoration of skin tone.

My therapist decided this was best one for me as they specialise in Bespoke facials with consultation before and asked my expectations and needs and medical questions which is a good start.

The lipo-Oval has active lipolytic ingredients and biologically synthesised peptides deep into the skins layers to reduce fat deposits the face and neck and the second chin not a good look and great alternative if you don't fancy surgery and did I forget to mention these products are Not Tested on Animals and Organic I am already in love and haven't had the facial yet and also all the products are sealed for you and fresh ones for every client.

My therapist also advised some Galvanic too to really push the products in.

The mask that was applied was tucked right onto my skin and attached to my ears like a support bandage this felt like a lift before I had even looked at my face or finished the facial.

The skin is manually scrubbed and as my therapist explained really scrubbed to remove fine lines and dry skin which causes fine lines developing it felt like a scrub you would use on your body but don't let this put you off really satisfying and relaxing with a firm pressure but gentle pressure as I have said before if you want relaxing have that type of facial but this was relaxing but just to give you heads up and the knowledge when choosing a facial.

It had been a week now and my skin keeps getting better due to the active stimulation of collagen and elastin synthesis.

I cannot tell you how much I love this range and the facial I am having another one soon here again so will give you my finding again.

Organic Health

I love trying new products and I regularly mix it up.

I have often mentioned in other blogs my sensitive eyes and my allergy flare ups due to season changes.

At the moment I am mascara free as I need to let my eyes rest and also really removing mascara that why I have to use quality eye make up remover my favourite is the one below a little bit more expensive but effective and gentle by Bobbi Brown.

I currently have a treatment room on a Saturday at Neals yard Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk doing Beauty treatments.

It is great meeting practitioners from Reflexologist to what I am about to talk about next I was chatting to my colleague Lorraine Smillie who is a classical Homeopath and told her about my itchy sensitive eyes and she suggested using some homeopathic medicine so she prescribed pulsatilla 30c to take once under the tongue and I was really impressed I am not an expert on this but I definitely would recommend to my clients as I believe you should have alternative in life to conventional medicine.

Natural Sponges

This is something new to me I am ashamed to admit as i usually use a flannel or synthetic sponge and saw nothing wrong with this.

Until I was contacted by Trevor Maurer from the The Sponge Market a supplier to the trade.

He gave me a brief on an article of interest the use of triciosan which is anti bacterial and used in synthetic sponges and other personal care products.

The FDA in the USA are concerned with Triciosan with links to cancer.

Natural sponges are naturally anti bacterial and do not contain Triciosan.

I found these sponges not only look good on the eye and compliment a bathroom  it is nice to know they are a health benefit.

Natural sponges can be documented as early as 8th century BC.

Trevor Maurer is passionate about these sponges and has told me they are sustainly  grown and harvested in the sea bed in Greece and Florida a luxurious bathing product kind to sensitive skin hyper allergic super absorbent and long lasting.

I am currently using the Honeycomb natural sponge size 5.5.

I love using this sponge you do get a lather more with shower gel than soap but when you use soap you feel your getting the soap really onto the skin and your skin feels silky soft so much so I skipped my body moisturiser so perfect for days when you don't have time to.

You also feel your not losing your soap to loads of lather a bit like shampoo with sodium laureth which is artificial lather I don't use shampoos with this,in fact for years and prefer it.

I can't wait to try the others and the baby sponge I am going to use on my 18 month old niece.

Cleansing cloths

What do I think of cleansing cloths as a Beauty Therapist.

Cleansing cloths have been around for sometime now and they are handy to have around when your tired or travelling of just haven't got the time.

I wouldn't use them all the time except for the Ole Henrikson ones if you have too their is other commercial brands and other companies but these ones I know more about them so that is why I am only blogging about these as they are high quality  their is different ones depending on your skin concern in the range.

What I like about Ole Henrikson ones see the one below their is a rough side for exfoliation and a smooth for polishing they are bit more expensive at £12 from memory but your paying for the research and the ingredients and the man behind them who I have met Ole Henrikson who knows his stuff.

I took mine to my brothers to try out and he now loves them you can buy from look fantastic,feel unique,Harvey Nichols and amazon if google ole Henrikson comes up straight away to his website.

Perfect for men as quick and easy.

Mane and Tail shampoo

I love this shampoo comes with a conditioner I got mine from Amazon for £15.

If it is good enough for Horses it is good enough for me.

I like how it gives good lather and brings out the shine the natural colour of your hair I won't have to use a semi permanent for couple more weeks as it has restored my hair back.

Anne Semonin Emulsion Marine

I came across this cream as a sample a couple of years ago and I loved the luxurious feel of it it has ultra light feel and absorbs immediately with no trace of oiliness great for combination to oily skin or used by men after shaving.

Contains extract of sea fennel and Shea butter which is soothing and moisturising and revitalising.

This product is really popular with men.

Nuflex warming gel

These samples were kindly sent to me a while back and the warming gel is really essential for muscular strains as a beauty therapist my job can be physical with doing massage or even leaning over to do a wax even if I when I put the bed up so I tried the warming ones haven't used the cooling ones  yet but what I like about this product it comes out as cream soaks in well has mild smell but this doesn't last all you get is warming effect which relaxes the muscles everyone should have this product in their bathroom cabinet.

Astonish cleaning products

I am such a big fan of these cruelty free products I am cleaning my way through them the oxy powder is amazing in my laundry wash and the astonish stain bar for the odd stain loving the chocolate and orange hand wash.

 I tried this last week on a make up stain on my carpet work was a bit slow so had time to potter around my flat and it got rid of it I didn't take before after so have trust me it works and really easy and gentle.

Dapped area with a sponge first well run out then rubbed soap on the area get damp sponge again gently work in get little lather then rinse sponge dab on again until all lather gone then blot with towel and leave to dry all done stain gone.

I first came across this range a year when i tried the Body cream which i love see prevous blogs.

So here we go when companies ask me to write up and promote products i am very honoured to be asked and i do it free as it is my hobby and my passion not that it wouldn't be nice but it would be bias.

So when Theodora Ntovas sent me her new face and night creams i always say i like to be honest and give them a good go to really see if they work and i like them some products you instantly love and other you need to persevere more as they are more like a diet or workout its not overnight and also not to be offended if i don't like them it is only my opinion and if i don't like i wont blog about them.

This has a really rich texture and you have to work onto the skin when i first started trying it i thought this is too rich for me but maybe its because i am used to lighter texture creams and serums.

Astonish cleaning products

Even though I talk about Beauty and Hair products I have to tell you about this family run business based in the UK.

I first came into contact with this product range from my Mum who said it was amazing.

So over next few weeks I will be Blogging about it.

As say I talk about Beauty and Health having cleaning home is also important to your general health and peace of mind Tidy Home Tidy Mind I believe is true.

So hear goes first product this is excellent for cleaning pans and pots around the taps and the sink I just get well run out damp cloth put some of paste on wipe round my pans to get surface grease off and rinse.

This product has really pleasant smell and is safe suitable for vegans,approved by vegan society and also not Tested on Animals.

My Christmas products I tried over the festive period.

I am lucky to be given these products to try and I believe the only way to know if they are effective is to try them for at least fortnight so here we go.

The first one was by OleHenriksen I first came into contact with this range when I worked as a Beauty Therapist in Glasgow and always thought the packaging was very stylish and would appeal to men too.

So I tried the ultimate eye lift which is gel formula that I used under my eye brows not on top off eye lids and I did feel a slight lift great way to start your day and before I applied my make up.

My Mother is using it now as I like to spread the love and I know she won't mind me saying is luxury getting an eye product and is maturer and really likes the feel of it.

The next one is by BeautyLab is instant eye complex which I have to say I have used this a lot and it did compliment the one above for double impact. I am big fan of this eye cream see past blogs.

The next one is Relax neuropeptide serum by BeautyLab which soaks in well and gives a well rested look and is excellent on fine lines I found it really effective on my neck area that can easily be forgotten.

Finally micropolish Dermabrasion this facial exfoliation is old school in can really feel you have exfoliated the skin but not rough and during Christmas when your diet is richer it and your skin is more dehydrated really gives it radiance.
