Waxing do's and don'ts

With the hot weather at the moment in London their is a mad rush for waxing it is easier send than done but in the long run best to try and get into a routine be less painful.

I had a really busy day of waxing on Friday with a lot of clients waxing in their lunch breaks on a limited time but still expect the good results so had to work at top speed.

IF YOUR LATE EXPECT THE THERAPIST TO DO WHAT SHE CAN WITH THE TIME IF SHE HASN'T ANYTHING AFTER YOU SHE CAN THEN DO YOUR FULL TREATMENT,

I have a new name for this service it is the EXECUTIVE WAX the client just lies back can work on her phone then i can concentrate on doing a good job without skipping corners obviously if a client isn't in a hurry part of being a good at waxing is putting client at ease and having a chat if they want too and asking them what they want.

Lauren's way tan

On Friday i said i was going to have a spray tan at Lauren's Salon and it didn't disappoint. I had the Intense 12% which is 4 to 5 shades darker than your natural tan as i am filming a training video for Salon owners for Lauren's way more on this in future blogs.

What i like about this tan is it does not look like a fake tan and it seems to look better day by day.

Eye concealer

When you find an eye concealer that works for you and does what you want stick with it my favourite is Bobbi Brown tinted eye bright i first use the Bobbi Brown corrector.

 You can buy it in John Lewis, Selfridges

.Once you have had a make up consultation you then will find the right one for you.


The correcter goes on with a little brush working into your eye alcove then blend then clink the eye bright pen and repeat.


I keep it in my make up bag for touch ups during the day i do not like running out as really makes a difference to my over all look i apply mine in this order


Primer
correcter
tinted eye bright

foundation.

This eye bright can be used by Men too, i won't tell and you can hide it.

The next generation of facials

As a therapist and a client we are wanting so much more from our facials. I can remember the first time i had a facial at college and that is sometime ago but you never forget your first one even though it was in a learning environment.

I have always looked after my skin and bought shop products,but to learn how to properly look after your skin and to use the products correctly was a break through and i remember thinking "Oh i really haven't thought of correct cleansing regime" i had just been splashing my skin then applying moisturiser hap hazily but i always used an eye cream which i am so glad i did as this is my area of concern being a smiley person.

What i am finding now is clients our becoming more sophisticated and wanting so much more from their facials which brings me to what i was doing this week Glycopeel  facials.


I was doing a training for a company called Beauty Lab, based in the UK.


Glycolic peels are the way forward for the client and the therapist.

The reason why is simple in a facial you do get a double cleanse ,sometimes  under steam, you should get exfoliation, massage, extraction's if required, mila extractions, mask this is the standard obviously a salon uses different product houses EXAMPLE: DERMALOGICA.CLARINS,ELEMIS the list goes on.but as therapists we follow pretty much the same method.

You can should then leave the salon after the facial hopefully relaxed or re energised and skin looking good.

What i want now is more "RESULT DRIVEN FACIALS" that is why Glycolic peels are the way forward it isn't a s scary as you think ,you leave feeling like your skin has been reborn and going deeper tackling skin concerns "No Samantha out of sex and city " if you ever saw that episode you can have this on your lunch break first one takes an hour includes  consultation, treatment is about 45 minutes then home care.

Beauty UK Mayfair House, London

On 2nd May did a Beauty event with my colleagues at Linda Hill Beauty Agency it was lot of fun. We were their to provide file and polish with the Beauty UK nail varnishes which i haven't heard of before the event so always good to discover a new product, they had great selection of colours and more importantly went on really quickly.

The Beauty UK varnishes dry speedily which is good when your doing polishes back to back so makes a good product not only for professionals but home use as they didn't run or bleed as we all know that feeling off painting your nails then smudging them or you think they are dry and not.


I believe you can purchase them at Super drug and Boots.

The event had stylists as well as make up artists.

Also the event was to promote the new Batiste dry shampoo called lace which i was lucky to get one has a more subtle smell more sophisticated more like a light perfume but for your hair.
